ASN's can be regarded as simply an electronic version of your Advice Note. When you have produced material and are ready to deliver it, you raise your normal advice note and make transport arrangements either on your own vehicles or by requesting collection by our nominated transport. At this stage you copy the advice note details on to the ASN screen and send it to us. This automatically creates the first stage of a receipt on our system, speeding up the receiving process when the delivery arrives and so releasing your vehicle sooner.
Performance metrics are a key part of every business and at Unipart we measure on time delivery closely. We do this by capturing data on when the receipt is created on our systems compared to the Delivery Schedule due date. We then use our metrics measurement systems such as Ten(d) to Zero program or the Ford Supplier Delivery Performance Rating (SDPR) system to generate scoring. For ex-works suppliers we use the ASN creation date and compare this to the schedule due date. Full use of ASN's can considerably improve your scoring in these programmes.
